‘Painterly Architectonic’ is a series of abstract paintings produced by Russian avant-garde artist Lyubov Popova in 1916. The collections, constructed with oil on canvas, are characterized by dynamic, overlapping planes which seem to float in space. The colored diagonal shapes in this painting suggest movement but also a sense of balance.
